Great Southwestern added 100MVAR 345kV shunt reactors to ETT’s Tesla, Edith Clarke, Clear Crossing, and Riley substations to maintain stability and flexibility in West Texas.
The work was performed as an electrical subcontractor to MYR Energy Services, an MYR Group subsidiary, under an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract. Great Southwestern’s scope encompassed engineering services, construction management, construction; supply of all major equipment, including five reactors; and testing and commissioning.
