Project Detail

Meeker to McBryde 345kV Transmission Line

Location:  Colorado

Description:  This project consisted of the construction of 26.8 miles of single circuit, two bundle 1272 kcm ACSR “Bittern” conductor with 0.495″ fiber OPGW and 7/16 EHS OHSW shield wire on direct embed steel poles, steel dead-ends and angles on base plates.  The  project also included the installation of anchor bolt and concrete pier foundations.

Client:  White River Electric Association, Inc.

Completion Date:  2008

“This project was completed in less than 2 years from inception to energization.  Great Southwestern was the successful bidder on both the line and substation.  Great Southwestern mobilized, constructed, energized and reclaimed on-time while losing almost 6 weeks of the schedule due to one of the wettest springs in recent Colorado history.  This project encountered very rough and challenging terrain.  The success of this project to deliver load at the project date was because Great Southwestern was able to accomplish the construction activities in a timely and professional manner.  I would highly recommend Great Southwestern for future projects.”
